Conversations With Sisters
One of the best things about having more than one child is listening to the conversations that go on between your young children. It does a heart good! Soon after we started going to Mother's Day Out, we began a daily tradition of asking each member of our family what the best part of their day was, and what the worst part was. It's become a fun thing, and Brooke has really come to look forward to asking Bill and I what our best and worst parts are. Sometimes Brooke and I talk about it on the way home, and sometimes we do it at dinner time with everybody together. On Friday, I asked Brooke about her day as we were on our way home. A while later, Brooke asked me about my day, and then I heard this: Brooke: "Summer, what was your best part? [pause] Was it...playing outside...or...playing in your room? Just tell me one of those two. [silent pause] Or, do you wanna tell me about what toys you played with in your room? [pause] Or you can tell me what friends you played with." Summer: finally responds with unintelligible speech, I'm sure telling her all the friends she played with. She only says one friends name almost clearly. His name is Cooper and she calls him Pooper... The tenderness in Brooke's voice was something I will never forget. These moments make a momma's heart explode with joy....I'm still looking for all the pieces of mine
